Michel’s breeding site
After the collection of the raw material stemming from the knackery, Michel SAS transforms this one for the production of worms and moths.
Every day, twelve trucks of the site cross the countryside to collect these corpses of animals.
The knackery is the additional activity of the part verminerie. The fast care of animals that have died in departments around the site (the Ariège, the Haute-Garonne, the Pyrénées-Atlantiques and the Hautes-Pyrénées) allows to prevent any potential risk for the environment (contagion of the water) and the human or animal health.
A team of two poeple take charge of the sorting out during the on-site arrival. These raw materials are crushed then stored. They are then spread on the numerous ponds of breeding of the site for the production of Michel’ bait. When the bait has reached their maturity, team of collectors clean them up and packages them in tubs with some sawdust. The bait is then stored in a cold room.
The moths are brought up from cereal and from wax to high temperature. After long period, they leave their food before being packed in a cardboard box.
The preparation of the orders ask for an important know-how because it is necessary to prepare the alive charms before packaging them.
For the range of worms, beluga whales, pinkies and to gozzer, you will find the conditioned in a small box, averagely ( 1 / 8L ), box ¼ liter, box ½ liters, box 1L or loose in a bag.
The administrative team consists of six poeple amongst whom two leaders, a person in charge of breeding, an accountant and three secretaries (knackery, the verminière and the fishing part.
